Together, we do better

We have formed special interests/affiliation employee groups who meet regularly to discuss shared perspectives and opportunities to educate and support each other. Over the past year we have:

  • Administered our first Employee Experience (EX) Inclusion & Engagement Survey
  • Established two Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) for PRIDE and Women
  • Held monthly, bank-wide Pacific Western Bank's Inclusion@Work Advisory Council (PRISM) learning events focused on on diversity, equity and inclusion

Bring your whole self to work

We're a relationship bank—and that extends beyond our client relationships. Our company culture is built on strong relationships among our leaders and our employees.

We engage our employees

With a personalized approach, we offer learning and development programs that ensure all PWB employees have access to resources to advance their careers:

  • Our LinkedIn Learning allows employees to create personalized learning plans tailored to their roles.
  • It also provides access to articles, courses and videos to build industry knowledge and enhance professional skills.
  • We offer monthly learning challenges with curated learning tailored to each area of our business.
  • We offer a quarterly webinar series, Navigating Next, designed to support our company talent management processes.

We are developing next generation leaders

In 2021, we launched two programs to develop current and future leaders at the bank. Twenty-five percent of our managers have participated in these programs. Our development programs run quarterly to drive new skills including:

  • How to recognize market, environmental and regulatory impacts
  • How to up-skill people’s capabilities to meet ongoing market challenges
  • Insights into leadership strengths and opportunities
  • How to build an inclusive environment and allyship within teams
  • How to manage ongoing change

Supporting emotional wellness

We offer employees benefits and resources to help them maintain good emotional health, including:

  • Unlimited, confidential, free, 24/7 behavioral health coaching is available to all employees and dependents age 13 and older.
  • Eight video therapy sessions for each employee and their dependents are covered at no cost.
  • A minimum of 20 days of paid time off is available to all benefits-eligible employees.
